Tigerland Brass Quintet

 

A native of Pasadena, TX, Luke Scallan is an active musician in the Austin area. Luke received his Bachelor’s degree in music performance from Louisiana State University and is currently working toward his Master’s degree in music from the University of Texas at Austin.  Luke is dedicated to the performance and education of all musical styles and genres, and in addition to playing with the Tigerland Brass, Luke has performed with the 225 Big Band, Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, Baton Rouge Little Theater, Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, Captain Green, Center Stage Theater of Gonzalez, Jefferson Baptist Orchestra, Minos the Saint, Mooncoin Productions, New World Funk, The Rusty Yates Band, and the Louisiana Cool Winter Nights and Hot Jazz Ensemble. Luke’s primary trumpet teachers include Ray Sasaki (The University of Texas at Austin), Brian Shaw (Louisiana State University), Jim Vassallo (The University of Houston), and David Ngo.
