Gabriel Roberson - Bass Trombone

Gabriel Roberson is a bass trombonist, born and raised in Tyler, Tx. He began to play the trombone when he was 11 years old and switched over to the bass trombone when he was 15. Gabriel has a bachelors degree from Louisiana State University in Music Performance, and he is currently in his second year of his masters degree for performance at Northwestern University. He has won the Eastern Trombone Workshop division 2 National Bass Trombone Solo Competition, the International Trombone Association Keilnhammer Exerpt Competition, and has received an honorable mention and alternate spot for the International Trombone Association Yaxley solo competition. Gabriel has held positions in the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Roberson has won a sub spot for the Houston Symphony, and was a finalist for the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and Pacific Symphony. In addition to the positions that he has held, he has also performed with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, the Houston Symphony, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Gabriel's primary teachers include: Michael Mulcahy, Randall Hawes, Timothy Higgins, Douglas Wright, Chris Davis, Steve Menard, Jeannie Little, and Tom Mensch.
