                                                                                   Tigerland Brass Quintet

The Tigerland Brass Quintet was formed in the Fall of 2011 at the Louisiana State University School of Music.  Since then TBQ has performed all over the city of Baton Rouge and lower Louisiana.  In April of 2013, TBQ were guest artists at the San Jacinto Brass Symposium in Houston, Texas.

All of the TBQ personnel have graduated from LSU and are pursuing careers in music. Members of TBQ have performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, Houston Symphony Orchestra, Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Louisiana Sinfonietta, South Carolina Philharmonic, Symphony Orchestra Augusta, Cleveland Philharmonic, Beaufort Symphony Orchestra, U.S. Army Blues Jazz Ensemble, Theatre Baton Rouge, Square Brass Quintet, Baton Rouge Little Theatre, Speakeasy, The Rusty Yates Band, National Jazz Workshop, and other ensembles across North America.

Currently, four of our members are earning graduate degrees at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of New Mexico. Our bass trombonist Gabriel Roberson recently earned a job with the Naples Philharmonic and has been actively performing with that orchestra.  Even though we live in different places we still meet up to perform and record our own compositions and works by other composers.

Our mission is to perform and compose music that is accessible to all audiences, and to have fun doing it.
